Loogman Carwash Hoofddorp is part of De Loogman Groep, a company that operates car wash locations throughout the Randstad, in the western Netherlands. What began in 1959 as a small gas station evolved into a leading car wash enterprise, with the first car wash opening in 1983.

Loogman Carwash Hoofddorp welcomed its first customers in 2007. Sixteen years later, in 2023, it relocated to a brand-new, ultramodern facility designed to accommodate further growth.

The car wash has a maximum capacity of around 110-120 cars per hour, per tunnel.

Environmentally friendly features:  
The entire roof of the facility is covered with solar panels. Plus, there are large underground wells with sand filters, which allow for proper sedimentation and filtration of used water. “Because of this system we can recycle nearly all of the used water,” said Jerry Hollander, operational director at Loogman. “These features ensure that we minimize the waste of water and energy.” 

Unique features:  

• Loogman offers a covered vacuum hall that features dual vacuum hoses on each side and space for 40 cars. “Customers have access to everything they need to freshen up their car’s interior: air blowers, mat cleaners, cleaning cloth dispensers, fragrance machines and tire inflators,” Hollander said.
• All chemicals used at Loogman are biodegradable and have a natural scent.
• With Loogman Pay, customers can purchase a wash program in advance through the app and drive through an unmanned Loogman Pay lane using license plate recognition.
• Anticipating continued growth in the coming years, they’ve already built a dedicated interior cleaning lane.

Every year, a Halloween-inspired event is held at Loogman Carwash Hoofddorp, where the site is transformed into a terrifying haunted car wash experience. “We stay open later into the night, and our employees dress up to scare — and entertain — our customers,” Hollander said.

Together with a professional set designer and specialists in lighting and sound, the Loogman car wash becomes a spooky spectacle. “Every year, the event becomes a bigger success, drawing visitors from across the country to experience the “Halloween Carwash.”

“We are proud to say that our customers rate us with an average of 8.9,” Hollander said. “This rating is made up of the results of the car wash, our customer service, our loyalty program with our Loogman WasApp and the facilities we offer on our locations.”

EV Charging at the Vacuums

Another Loogman site, Loogman tanker & wassen Amsterdam, offers charging options at two of the vacuum stations. While customers are vacuuming, they can also charge their EV battery.  “After your car goes through the car wash, you can fast charge it right in our vacuuming area,” said Jerry Hollander of Loogman. “It is super convenient. You can clean the interior while it charges.”  

The charging speed is no less than 200 kW per charging point and can be used for a maximum of 15 minutes per customer — enough time to top off the battery while you’re tidying up the interior.
